Knossos

Located 5 km southeast of the city of Heraklion in Crete, it is one of the most visited archaeological sites in Greece as the Palace of Knossos was undoubtedly the ceremonial and political centre of the Minoan civilization and culture. Knossos was the seat of the legendary King Minos and the main centre of power in Crete.
